INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
1.Cooperative Agreement Signed Between JGSU And University Of Florida (UF) In Beijing
On May 7 of 2013, a cooperative agreement is signed between JGSU and University of Florida in Beijing. Professor Zhang Taicheng, president of JGSU and Dr. Zhang Chonghua, Director of International Centre of FU (China) signed respectively on the agreement on behalf of two universities. Vice-president Xiao Changchun chaired the signing ceremony. Present at the ceremony are leaders of the relevant Departments of JGSU and Mr. Liqiang, Assistant Director of International Centre of FU (China).
To promote the cooperation and academic exchanges between the two universities, the two sides will conduct deep cooperation on joint undergraduate cultivation, teacher exchange and study-abroad program, etc.
2.JGSU Ikeda Daisaku Research Institute Founded
On October 29, 2012, Jinggangshan University held a ceremony to celebrate the establishment of JGSU Ikeda Daisaku Research Institute. President of Soka University Yamamoto Hideo,authorized by Ikeda Daisaku, the founder of Soka University, took a special trip to attend the ceremony. Wang Hongxiang, Professor of World Language Center in Soka University, Horiguchi Shingo, head of the International Department in Soka University and the journalists of Japan Holy Church Society were in company with President Yamamoto. JGSU President Zhang Taicheng, together with Yamamoto Hideo, unveiled the nameplate for the institute. Vice-president Zeng Jianping presided at the ceremony. Those 40-plus people present at the ceremony also included Vice-president Xiao Changchun, director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, dean of the School of Foreign Language, Japanese teachers, Japanese experts teaching in JGSU, and student representatives majoring in Japanese.
3.Signing Ceremony for Cooperation between JGSU and ECU
& Sino-Australian Education Internationalization Conference Held in Shenzhen
On March 30, 2012, the signing ceremony for cooperation and exchange between Jinggangshan University and Edith Cowan University and Sino-Australian Education Internationalization Conference were held in Shenzhen. Vice-president of JGSU Dr. Xiao Changchun, authorized by President Zhang Taicheng, attended the ceremony and addressed a speech at the Sino-Australian Education Internationalization Conference. After the ceremony, Dr. Xiao met with ECU President Kerry O Cox. After welcoming President Kerry O Cox, President Xiao Changchun briefed the guests on the profile about JGSU. He wished to turn this signing ceremony into an opportunity to establish friendly cooperative relations with ECU. They also exchange ideas on joint training programs, teacher exchange projects and study-abroad program, etc.
Present at the signing ceremony are representatives from 12 other universities in China, including Jilin University.
4.The Cooperation Agreement Between JGSU And Soka University Signed
On the morning of October 20, 2011, the signing ceremony for the cooperation agreement between Jinggangshan University(JGSU) and Soka University(SU)) held at Soka University. Pesident of SU Yamamoto Hideo and President of JGSU Zhang Taicheng, on behalf of each university, put their signatures to the agreement and then held a friendly forum. Tashiro Yasunori, Director of Soka University, heads of relevant departments of Soka University, and JGSU Vice-president Zeng Jianping and their entourage also attended the ceremony.
At the forum, Professor Zhang exchanges ideas with Mr. Yamamoto Hideo on issues, such as interschool communication, personnel training, and students exchange, establishment of Ikeda Daisaku Research Institute at JGSU, etc. The two presidents also agree to speed up the academic exchange and cooperation between the two universities. Authorized by Mr. Ikeda Daisaku, President of SU Mr. Yamamoto, presents Mr. Zhang a Chinese poem that is specially created for JGSU as a present. The poem reads that “JGSU, situated near the Gan River with a grand and majestic campus, features its succession and promotion of Jinggangshan Spirit. Flying Egrets is accompanied by leisurely white clouds, the ship sails towards a bright future.” President Zhang then invited President Yamamoto to visit JGSU at an appropriate time.
5.Cooperation Agreement Signed between People’s Friendship University of Russia (PFUR) and JGSU
On the afternoon of April 6, 2010, Jinggangshan University（JGSU） and People’s Friendship University of Russia(PFUR) held a signing ceremony at the New Training Centre of JGSU. President Zhang Taicheng and Vice President Denisenko Vladimir Nikiforovich, on behalf of JGSU and PFUR respectively, signed up on the agreement. Luo Xuewei, Vice President of JGSU, presided at the signing ceremony. Present at the ceremony are Vice-president Zeng Jianping, Lv Yuhua(member of CPC Committee of JGSU), Professor Ponomaryov Nicholas Konstantinovich from PFUR, Liu Xin(Director of Beijing Office of PFUR), and leaders of relevant administrative departments of JGSU.
The major contents in the cooperation agreement include: both sides agree to promote an interschool cooperation and to establish friendly universities; both sides build a sound mechanism to promote personnel exchange and communication; PFUR helps JGSU establish a Russian Teaching and Research Section; JGSU encourages its teachers to study for Master’s or Doctoral Degree in PFUR; both sides jointly boost academic exchanges and gear up students exchange program; PFUR offers students of JGSU privileged opportunities for studying for Master’s Degree at PFUR; both sides agree to conduct the Summer or Winter Camp program for the students.
People’s Friendship University of Russia, founded by former Soviet leader Khrushchev, ranks the third among Russian state-run universities. It has more than 28,000 enrolled students, among which there are above 5,000 international students, government-sponsored or self-funded, from more than 100 countries and regions. It has cultivated a number of outstanding talents for many countries in the world over 50 years since its foundation.
